TENERIFE GOLF

Many people visit Tenerife solely to play golf on its excellent golf courses. It is fast becoming one of the premier golfing destinations to rival those in the Algarve, Florida and Andalucia. It has been given a further boost by the addition of a world-class golf course designed by Severiano Ballesteros, in Buenavista, northern Tenerife. The setting and the layout of the golf course is spectacular lying at the foot of the Teno mountain range, a natural protected area with views of the Atlantic Ocean.

SURFING & WINDSURFING

El Médano in the south of the island is the best place for surfing and windsurfing, due to its unpolluted, warm waters and the constant trade winds which whip up plenty of decent waves.

There are a number of footpaths over the island, which offer challenges for all levels. These footpaths are graded by the Spanish conservation agency ICONA, detailed maps can be obtained from tourist information offices all over the island.
